There are very distinct seasons, each with its own unique appeal. The dry months are from April till October and the wet months November till March. Zambia is regarded as a malaria area and therefore proper prevention, by way of malaria prophylaxis is recommended. There are many different strains of Malaria requiring specific drugs. International flights South African Airways, Kenya Airways and Emirates fly into Lusaka, Zambia. South African Airways, Kenya Airways and Ethiopian Airways fly into Lilongwe, Malawi. Getting to Mfuwe 1 hour 30 minutes flight with Proflight (https://proflight-zambia.com/)from Lusaka, Zambia. From Lilongwe, Malawi it is a 1 hour flight. Most nationals can obtain their visa at the point of entry into Zambia. Current charges are $50 for tourists of most nationalities, including US, Canadian, British and most European countries. ATM machines can be used for cash withdrawals. The Zambian Kwacha is the local currency. You can change Euro and USD at any bank or bureau de exchange. Credit cards are accepted within Lusaka, Livingstone and the lodge. However, outside these areas it is best to use cash. In general Visa is more widely accepted.
